I’m happy to share that Rose City Reads, the used bookstore run by Friends of the Multnomah County Library, has been nominated for Portland’s Readers Choice Awards!
Over the past few months, I’ve had the pleasure of working with the Friends team, and it’s incredibly rewarding to see their bookstore receiving the attention it deserves. Director Jackie Starr has been an absolute delight to collaborate with, and every visit to the store is a joy, thanks to the passionate volunteers who make the space so welcoming.
Personally, I can’t help but browse the shelves each time I stop by. With over 15,000 rotating titles and most books priced around just $3, I always find something new and unexpected. Though Rose City Reads only opened in 2023, it’s grown rapidly, and this nomination is a wonderful milestone in its journey.
I look forward to continuing my work with the Friends of the Library, especially now, as this recognition is sure to bring new faces through the doors, and with them, new opportunities for creative projects.
